1974

Back in 1974...

Μainly it was the start of a fine journey for Daios Plastics. The company started with the production of shopping bags and within a short period of time the company focused exclusively in the production of specialized films for agricultural applications.
The company’s philosophy is that of growth and innovation. It has launched several products in the market which offered solutions to the problems that the farmers were facing. In 1977 the company installed a blown film line producing a film with a variable thickness profile and it started producing innovative patented films for drying tobacco leaves and raisins.

1980 - 1988

A series of innovative solutions

In 1980 Daios Plastics launches a new product targeting the cultivation of seedless grapes. In the mid 1980s the company produces specialized high pressure irrigation pipes and flat soft PVC tubes. Looking for close and creative co-operations with similar companies it comes in contact with the Israeli company Plastro Gvat and in 1988 it starts producing a specialized self regulated drip irrigation pipe.

1988 - 1992

Differentiation...

By the end of 1980s the company enters in a partnership with Dow Plastics coming into an agreement to use a special type of linear Polyethylene. In parallel it launches a new series of products with the trade name Dalin®. The first product of this series aimed at the specific needs of the cultivation of cotton providing the cotton growers with a powerful tool to confront the problems that the cotton cultivation had.

1988 - 1995

Creation...

Offering solutions for dynamic and prosperous cultivations the company comes forward with several products for the cultivation of asparagus. Making use of the technology and the know-how that the company has acquired it launches new products such as Dalin® Black inaugurating a new innovative product series. The patented Dalin® Pocket.

1996 - 1999

Setting high goals...

The company grows fast. Its products are widely accepted by the farmers and generally our customers and their popularity is mirrored by the considerable improvement of the financial results of the company. The Dalin® pocket series expands with new products that are an evolution of the cultivation itself. A string of patents stems from the Research & Development team boosting the total number of patents to 16.
The quality and innovative character of the products is acknowledged by the demanding European markets and the company exports its products to several of the West and Central European countries.

2000 - 2010

Moving into the new century...

Daios Plastics continues its positive and ascending course and it is listed in Athens Stock Exchange. The company draws capital, which is further invested. Listening to the needs and requirements of the market and its customers the company continues to invest to its most important advantage: the production of ideas, integrated solutions and methods having as a sole goal the improvement of the quality and the increase of the farmer’s income.

2011 - Today

Further enhancements and new patents...

Our commitment to change, enhancements and sustainable growth is exhibited through a series of new products targeting the soft fruit markets, specialized greenhouse and asparagus films. An addition of 5 PCT patents brings the company forward to a new era of further investments and growth.
